April 23, 2012 Moroni 10:32 - 33

Hey fam fam.
This week was magically delicious. The scripture of the week is Moroni 10; verses 32 and 33.
32 Yea, acome unto Christ, and be bperfected in him, and cdenyyourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and dlove God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may beeperfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye asanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the bblood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your csins, that ye become dholy, without spot.
Had two baptisms, Edison and Jhover, they are two really awesome kids, one will be receiving the priesthood soon. tonight we are going to make pizza with them and their family and have a family night. The water was freezing cold. haha jhover didn´t want to enter. but they both got baptized and confirmed, now we are just focusing on their dad more and the whole family will be unified (their mom is returned missionary inactive.)

Wow I am really short on time, so i am sorry this has to be brief. But this week was great, my birthday was awesome. My pensionista surprised me with an amazing cake.

Did a service project with my companion this week, sent a pic of the result.
I also got your birthday package this week. So im loving that. Im not sure what all is for my pensionista but im guess the 4 hand towels, hand sanitizer and maybe some pens? well ill give her that. but wow its a big one!! lots of delicious fatty stuff. just what i need! Also played futbol on my birthday, and today we played for a long time too. I love it.  I am really gratefull for our family, we have always had so much love for each other and been so close. April 16, 2012 Happy 20th Birthday to You Christopher!!!

hey there family. it sounds like you guys had lots of fun in hawaii!!! well today is pretty much the best birthday of my life. cuz i get to serve the lord!
the scripture of the week is 1 Corinthians 11:14. Dad will love this one.
Well it was great hearing from all of you. and thanks for the pictures!! I love seeing pictures of you guys. I always enjoy current pics of Jett too cuz he is changing faster than all of you combined. This past week was pretty awesome. the traveling assitants Elder Hargis and Elder Picket came this week to Huaraz. Elder picket was asistant to president when i started the mission in otuzco, i prosylited with him in otuzco and salpo when i was in my training. Elder Hargis was my zone leader in los cedros and is a good buddy. it was cool to see both of them again. well we started visiting this family this week. a sister who is a returned missionary but inactive. don`t know how that happened, but her husband isn't member and the kids of her husband aren't either. They are a great family, Edison is 13 and Hover is 11, and they have a lot of faith and want to be baptized. they have attended church quite a few times before, and we are trying to teach them every day this week to prepare them for baptism this saturday, we are teaching the dad also who isnt member. yet. i think he`ll be baptized too. Overall the mission is really good and I continue to learn knew things every day. We have also been working on trying to activate some less active families, which for me is almost as good as a baptism. I love you guys so much, this is my first birthday without you all, but I feel your prayers and feel closer to you than i have been before. I sent some stuff for the Hurley children birthdays, hope you get it!. The packet hasn`t arrived yet. but maybe this Saturday! I did get a letter from grandma and grandpa holt! THanks grandparents! It was good to hear from them. Tell grandma Hurley thank you for the money, i'll try to put it to good use! Well have a great week! I love you all!

April 9, 2012 D and C 19:16-19

Hey family!!
The scripture of the week is D and C 19:16-19.

This week was great. We went to trujillo. Two bus rides through the night there and back. But concilio was really good. Excited nervracking all at the same time. I was asked to give the commission. I pulled it off pretty well. We played futbol and frisby dodgeball. I love futbol. Really it has kind of always been my least favorite sport but i grow to love it more each day. This week we had an unexpected baptism. a little boy that goes to church on sunday with his sister who is a member. We taught him, had his interview and baptized him all in this week. hes only 8. and a little crazy. but part of his family is member of the church so it was good to baptize him. Sometimes its weird to baptize little kids haha, but then i remember i was also baptized at 8 years and i turned out ok. But it was a good experience. Today we went to this cool place as a zone called llanganuco. I took a lot of pictures, but just sent the ones i took of me cuz i figured you guys would be happy to see me rather than pictures of mountains and water. It was fun. we all went in this little bus thing and brought lunch to eat there. That is crazy that you guys attended elder hannemans ward! haha. I saw him this week at concilio. cuz hes a zone leader too. he has family that live in alpine too of kids that went to lone peak. Ill have to tell him you attended his ward. thats so cool. I also went up with one of the district leaders this week in a place called Yungay. it was cool cuz this week is semana santa, and everyone was making huge images of jesus christ on the streets and different places with flowers and other colorful things. They almost have a branch in yungay, but are currently having to travel to the ward in caraz like 20 minutes away, which is hard to move the work along, cuz it is hard enough to get people to church when there is a chaple in their town. haha but they should have a little chaple house soon. Its so great to hear from you guys, i hope hawaii is awesome. Have courts pray about what she should do. Im pretty sure i talked with my teachers and they were fine if i made it second period a little late. but when i did it started at 8.00 in the morning. I sent some stuff this week. hope you get it. I love you guys so muich have the best week of your life!

Sister Turks Blog about Zone Conference April 2012

Thirty-Four of the Best!

We had a few of our closest friends over for lunch today.
Our Zone Leaders were all in for our Concilio.
Our friends are growing in numbers.
Poor Lucy and Alicia had to feed 36 hungry tigers.
The 36 includes office Elders, Zone Leaders and us.

We have five new Zone Leaders joining us this month.
Elders Saldivia, Gamboa, Frietz, Escobar, and Hurley.

Zone Leaders are in training from 9 to 2
then lunch at the mission home
And today...

We went to play!
A little frisbee dodge ball and some soccer
goes a long way.
It's great for stress release and it prepares them
 for another great month.
They are all doing outstanding work.
Their numbers are flying off the charts!
