September 26, 2011 Mosiah 28:3

Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not abear that any human bsoul should cperish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure dendless torment did cause them to quake and etremble.
What I eat almost every day, and yes that is a hard boiled egg in the soup with the shell!

My First  baptism German.
He has so much faith,
and God has blessed him
for his desire to follow Christ.

 Hey beautiful familia,

Thanks for all of your letters it is always soo good to hear from you. The scripture of the week is Mosiah 28:3. sounds like you guys are all doing good. i am way excited to be an uncle. send me pics asap por fa. and pics of beautiful courts for homecoming too. I am pretty sure my package arrived finally. The zone leader says i have a packet so i am now just waiting for that. i think he will send it this week. one tip, when you send packages, never put more than 100 dollars on the value. even if it contains more than 100, like 150 or something, never put the value more than 100 american dollars. ok,  Don´t worry yourself papa bout not writin last week, i know your busy, and i only write one letter for all of ya usually. This week was awesome, had my first baptism. a brother named German, he has so much faith, and God has blessed him for his desire to follow christ. This week his lambs had babys, they were hoping hoping for 2 baby lambs, which is really rare in one birth, but his sheep had 3 baby lambs (triplets), and other with 2, (twins) he sees it as a grand blessing from the lord. which it is. He lives in milluachaqui, all four of us has taught him equally so it was a great celebration for all of us. President turk even came to Otuzco yesterday. He is such a great president and talked in church about refuge, we have 4 great refuges, Prayer, the Home, the Church, and the Temple. It was really cool. We picked them up and brought them to milluachaqui, he is a really old dude, and we had his brother, who was baptized like a year ago baptize him, which was really special also. We went to Salpo on Friday, and this whole time there is like a Fiesta. So it was cool to see a parade, there was a guy in the front of the parade shooting bottle rockets out of his hands into the sky. haha. Imma try to send some pictures, i don´t think it worked last time. I am really enjoying teaching now. It is way fun to try to teach the needs of those people i am teaching, rather than just make sure they understand the knowledge of the lesson. We have some families that are progressing, and have a date for October 22. I am way way stoked for conference this week, probably more than i have been in my life haha. also this week we started a choir of the branch. I am leading it haha. I made a sweet arrangement of a song that is dueable with the people we have. It is the melody of Come Thou Fount but with the words of Joseph Smiths first prayer. It turned out good and hopefully helps the work too. I love you guys so much. have a great week!

September 19, 2011 Mosiah 3:19

For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.

Family family family.

How are ya`ll doin! this week was gRRRRReat. The scripture of the week is mosiah 3:19. I love your letters, courts mom and matt. sounds like you guys are doing really well. I´m excited to see pictures of the bebe. Hey quick shoot out, if someone wants to do me a favor, open up my guitar case, open up the compartment in there, and take out the humidifier, (looks like a stone in plastic) soak it in water for a bit then put it back where you found it, that would be awesome :) got to play a little guitar this week. i miss that, but i have a bigger purpose right now. ive been thinking about how lucky i am. there are so many people in the world that don`t have the gospel. and i had it coming out of the womb. im grateful to my lovely parents who raised me in the gospel. This week was really good. one of our zone leaders and assistant to president came to otuzco this week. I had the oportunity to work with elder picket an assistant. we had a good time proseliting together in Salpo. with this member there hermano genero. this man has soo much faith and i wish all members were like him. he is 80 years old, was baptized in trujillo, but moved to milluachaqui cuz thats where his family is and wants them all to have the gospel. he is in way good shape and hikes and proselites with us, he talks with everyone in the area about the gospel and seems he is related to all of them in some form also haha. he is a great missionary and has literally dedicated his life to the work. on the way back from salpo in a bus with elder picket, we were squished al up against the window, and came to construction. we noticed the mountain on our side up above was the road to otuzco, we left the bus and hiked up haha. and when we looked back all the people trying to get to otuzco got out of the bus and followed us. haha. by the time we got to a taxi, the bus was just arriving too haha. but it was way better than standing squished in the bus. my confidence level grew extremely this week. especially in spanish, and with that contacting and teaching in general. I love teaching, i wonder if i will ever get tired of teaching the same things for 2 years, but really it is better each time. we had a chance yesterday to teach 3 families in 1 lesson, taught the restoration, and it went really well. This sunday if everything goes well, we are going to have 3 baptisms in otuzco. 2 from milluachaqui (equal forces teaching from me elder mikesell, contreras, and espinal) since we share that area and always split companionships teaching, and 1 from area of mikesell and espinal. this brother German has soo much faith. him and his wife are the two from milluachaqui getting baptized. his wife i think is having doubts, but hopefully all goes well. we taught him tithing yesterday and he has the faith that god will bless him double. so awesome, he is old. there is so much that happens every week it is hard to choose what to tell you. but i am doing well. i promise. love you guys so so much and have a great week!

September 12 2011, 3 nephi 21:27-29

Beautiful Family,
Howdy. love your letters. dad makes me laugh every time.

Scripture of the week is 3 nephi 21:27-29.

27 And know ye that aye shall be bjudges of this people, according to the judgment which I shall give unto you, which shall be just. Therefore, what cmanner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even das I am.
28 And now I ago unto the Father. And verily I say unto you, whatsoever things ye shall ask the Father in my name shall be given unto you.
29 Therefore, aask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh, receiveth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

Still haven´t got the package and im in trujillo right now and its not here either. maybe some day. haha. for moms questions, It´s about the same weather all the time. we had some rain this week which was awesome. but its only going to get warmer cuz your summer is my winter. i have been warm enough. the rain jacket dad sent right before i left the mtc provo has been awesome. I haven´t really been alternating shoes, i like the slip ons better than the tie ons. but i wear the tie ons like once a week, i think its a good idea to keep one pair lookin nice, for baptisms and stuff like that. yes i have to use the converter. if you want to send a primary song book that would be awesome, maybe a simplified hymn book too, because they want me to teach piano but they don´t understand it took my 11 years and i still can´t play the hymns perfectly haha. love hearing from you guys and can´t wait to see pictures of the baby. This week was really good. I feel like we are more in tune with the spirit, and that is the key. we had a ton of succesfull lessons, had 4 investigators attend church yesterday, and Ramiro, i talked about him a while back, committed to a date for this month, 25th of september. also a guy in milluachaqui for the same day. I didn´t even realize it was labor day today haha. i can pretty much understand everything now in spanish. still have a long way to go, but its nice to actual understand what people are saying. last week we had mission night, which we have every other week, it was fun, we one of those old book of mormon cartoon animated stories that i used to watch all the time as a kid. haha. and we had this trivia thing that elder contreras thought up that was pretty fun, had a big balloon filled with flour, connected to a bike pump. and after the question gets asked, one of us pumps the balloon untill they answer the question. haha it was fun to see everyones reactions. especially when the balloon popped. This same day, it was cool in the day we were walking somewhere and i said we should go to this lady´s house (who wasn´t in the plan or anything), just stopped and my tracks and said lets go there, we did, and when we got there she said she had been praying that we would come that day. definitely the spirit. yesterday i spoke in sacrament meeting. gave my first talk in spanish. turned out pretty well. i spoke on the forgiveness of others. i think that can be the most difficult thing for many of us. also we are going to have a branch choir that i think i am going to lead or teach. not sure. english class this week was a huge success. we had like 24 people come! thats like as big as the branch almost haha. so we had 15 contacts, and 6 referrals from the night also. pretty cool. did some service in milluachaqui this week also. i hope some day i can take ya´ll back here haha. but this week was good and i love the work, i love the people here and i love teaching. I love my district and the gospel and all of you guys. have a great week!

September 4, 2011 Colossians 3:16-21

Hey familia!
This week was great. Sounds like you guys are doing good. I love your letters.

Scripture of the week is Colossians 3:16-21.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
The Christian Home

18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

That's so exciting that the baby is coming. my lil sobrino. Jett. haha thats an awesome name. JETT HURLEY. chevare. hope he´s a sports star. yall better send pictures and such. This week was really good. I decided not to speak any English with Elder Mikesell this week. This helped my Spanish a bunch. Last ´p day was fun, we did service and made a lemon pie. We have people that are progressing, and going to have a baptism in milluachaqui this month. It seems like that all the people Elder Contreras and i have that close to baptizm, end up moving to Lima or Trujillo or out of the area haha. but i love teaching. I felt the spirit a lot this week, and i think we should all strive to have the spirit more in our lives. I tried sending a bunch of pictures, let me know if you got them. This week in the leahona I found myself! haha. and rachel and her sister, and some other kids (tyler, morgan, kylie) from when we went to General Conference last spring haha. that was kinda cool. This week Elder Contreras went to Lima also thursday night to figure out his visa. so thursday night friday and saturday i was a trio with elder espinal and elder mikesell. It was cool working with different people. I feel they really teach from their heart which is really good. While with them we were teaching this guy and a bunch of niños and I slipped on some wheat and hit my head on this random piece of wood that was level with my height. haha. so I have a mark on my head now. people assume it was a cat, or I fell, or other things, its pretty much healed now, but it was fun joking about how I got the mark, like I was preaching and someone punched me. Anyways I think there is a picture of that too. elder mikesell and espinal had a baptizm this week, a niño of 9 years. that was cool, saturday. we wanted to sing the rainbow song about earth right after rain. and we only had the words. being blessed with the ability to figure out melodies, I made a quick arrangement of it on the piano right before the program and we sung it. haha pretty cool. This lady Miriam we had a real special lesson, she has been investigating for like EVER. and she has brothers that are members, and she is more active that some members in the branch haha but she wont be baptized. but we talked about the holy ghost and i shared with her an experience i had that same morning reading about jesus coming to america, and the compassion he had on the people, (see 3 nephi 17:1-7) Jesus was about to leave cuz he knew he just taught a whole bunch of stuff and they needed to meditate and pray about it, and they started to cry cuz they didn´t want him to leave him, then he has them bring all there sick and heals every one. as I shared this the spirit was so strong. Sounds like you guys are having a good life. we were going to go to Trujillo today but we didn´t really have a plan there so we didn´t. Because Elder Contreras went to Trujillo and Lima, he brought me back a load of dearelders and an actual letter from rachel. that was awesome. The package wasn´t there, maybe tommorrow when we go to a leadership meeting for Elder Contreras. I hope you guys have a great week. and enjoy these pics. I finally got some pics of Otuzco for you guys. Love all. Serve all.
